Jaguar to call the new S-type the XF

The radical nature of Jaguar’s recent concepts has shown that the company has the talent and is keen to inject some new design trends into its range. Its successful XK coupe has shown what can be achieved, and we hope that the same accomplishment can be carried over to the new sedan.

We won’t be able to tell if the move is the right decision until the new XF goes on sale in 2008, ahead of its debut in the second half of next year. Initial plans to build the car with an aluminum chassis were dropped due to the cost involved and the delays in development.
